Party Time

Posted by in Weekly Life

Every year when December rolls around I fall into the same trap: I always forget to do my Christmas shopping until December 1st, schedule way too many parties and events on the weekends, scramble to make Christmas treats and get the decorations up…and before I know it, it’s Christmas. This is not to say I don’t enjoy the parties and the shopping and all that. Quite the contrary. Last weekend we went to an Ugly Sweater/White Elephant party… (Sweaters courtesy of the thrift shop…though I was disappointed I could not…read more

‘Tis the Season…for an Update

Posted by in Major Events

So it’s been a long time since I wrote anything noteworthy on here, but it has come to my attention that some people are still interested in what we Whites are up to in California. And truthfully, I have missed blogging a bit. Here’s a quick update. Our biggest news in the last year is that we welcomed a new addition to our family. Taylor William is now two months old and so much fun. He was 7 lbs 5 oz and 20 inches at birth… at his last checkup…read more

Love Means Nothing

At least in tennis. Brady and I celebrated Valentine’s day this year by going to the SAP Open in San Jose. We got super-awesome seats to watch Andy Roddick. That’s us before the first match started. Yes, that’s Andy Roddick. I was like less than 100 feet away from him. Brady and I exchanged Valentines in the morning, when I got home…read more

Since it’s been a few months since we checked in here, I’ll give you a quick photo rundown of what we’ve been up to. September: Brady’s parents came to visit. We took them to see the highlights of San Francisco, then up to the North Bay to check out Muir Woods (Redwood Forest.) This is them next to a 1,000-year-old tree. We also took Brady’s parents down to 17-Mile Drive on the Monterey Peninsula. It covers a lot of beautiful coastline scenery…and it’s where all the ritzy golf courses are….read more

Our [Hanukkah] Christmas Tree

Posted by in Weekly Life

This is our Christmas tree. Brady and I spent the Saturday after Thanksgiving shopping for decorations and making some of our own. I was the designated “creative director”, and was convinced this was going to be the most amazing tree-on-a-budget ever. I decided to break with the red-and-green tradition and went with blue and gold instead (contrary to what you may think…the color scheme had little or nothing to do with Brady’s and my BYU student/graduate status). When it was finished, we both sat back and admired it for a…read more
